Barcelona veteran not convinced by the club’s pay cut proposal amid uncertain future As we reach the business end of the campaign, the future of Robert Lewandowski remains the biggest question mark at Barcelona right now. The veteran striker’s contract expires at the end of the season, and the club’s hierarchy has made no secret of wanting to renew his contract for another year. However, continuation at Barcelona would come at a cost, as the Catalans are not able to afford his hefty salary and have thus tabled a one-year renewal that features a significant pay cut.

Lewandowski not convinced A recent report from Fabrizio Romano (h/t FCB World ) has offered some perspective on Lewandowski’s future, confirming that the striker is not convinced by Barcelona’s offer. Indeed, the Pole does not see any reason to take a pay cut, especially after his stellar performances at the club. In just four years, Lewandowski has entered the list of Barcelona’s top goal scorers, outscoring legends of the past .

There is no shortage of options, though. Lewandowski has been courted by clubs across the United States, Saudi Arabia and Italy. In Italy, though, he will have to settle for a pay cut as well, while the forward could earn a substantial salary in both MLS and the Saudi Arabian league.

In the coming days, his agent Pini Zahavi is expected to present all the options to the table, leaving the forward to make a final decision on his future. While a renewal at Barcelona has not yet been completely ruled out, it is unlikely that the Pole might just move on.
