Copa Verde: Nacional, Águia de Marabá and Gama reach quarter-finals Nacional-AM, Águia de Marabá, and Gama secured their spots in the Copa Verde quarterfinals on Wednesday night (15). Nacional beat Grêmio Sampaio 3-0 at Canarinho and reached 10 points, leading Group A of the Copa Norte. Meanwhile, Águia de Marabá, with the best campaign in the competition, defeated Remo 2-1 at Zinho de Oliveira and leads Group B of the Copa Norte with 12 points.
Gama, in Group B of the Copa Centro-Oeste, beat Anápolis 2-1 at Bezerrão and pulled away in first place in its group with 12 points. The 2026 Copa Verde is divided into the Copa Norte and the Copa Centro-Oeste, with 24 clubs taking part. After Wednesday’s round of matches, several teams no longer had any chance of advancing in the tournament.
Grêmio Sampaio, Independência, Remo, Galvez, Monte Roraima, and Cuiabá have already been eliminated and will only be playing out the schedule in the fifth and final round of the group stage. On Thursday, two matches will wrap up the round: Operário-MS vs. Primavera, at 8:30 p.
m. at Moreninhas; and Tocantinópolis vs. Atlético-GO, at 6 p.
