Current state of Jaguars' defensive depth chart before 2026 NFL draft
Before the 2026 NFL draft arrives, let's take a look at the current state of the Jaguars' defensive depth chart.
With the 2026 NFL draft near, let's dive into the current state of the Jacksonville Jaguars' depth chart on defense. What we see today will not be exactly what the roster looks like come training camp. With the Jaguars having 11 draft picks, along with undrafted free agency still to take place, there is quite a bit of roster maneuvering that has yet to happen.
We also can't rule out James Gladstone making a veteran free agent addition after the NFL draft, just as he did last year. But what this exercise does prior to the draft is highlight where some of the Jaguars' more pressing roster needs may lie. For a look at the Jaguars' depth chart on offense, you can find that here .
Defensive line DE Josh Hines-Allen DE Travon Walker DE BJ Green DE Danny Striggow DT Arik Armstead DT DaVon Hamilton DT Matt Dickerson DT Maason Smith DT Keivie Rose As you can see, from a pure numbers standpoint, depth at both defensive end and tackle is needed. In addition to that, more pass-rush consistency beyond Hines-Allen and Walker is needed, with Jacksonville ranking 18th in pressure rate and 27th in sacks. Linebacker Yasir Abdullah Dennis Gardeck Branson Combs Ventrell Miller Foye Oluokun Jalen McLeod Jack Kiser With Devin Lloyd now in Carolina, the starting spot next to Foye Oluokun is up for grabs.
And while GM James Gladstone seems bullish about the talent already on the Jaguars ' roster at linebacker, particularly Ventrell Miller, adding some additional competition wouldn't be a bad thing either. Cornerback Travis Hunter Montaric Brown Jarrian Jones Jourdan Lewis Keith Taylor Christian Braswell Jabbar Muhammad Keni-H Lovely Adding Brown back into the mix greatly reduced the Jaguars' need to address the cornerback position. He and Hunter will start on the outside, Lewis will be at the nickel, while Jones provides experienced depth.
