Berks baseball: Twin Valley scores six runs in the seventh to rally past Governor Mifflin

Twin Valley scored six runs in the top of the seventh inning to rally for an 8-7 BCIAA baseball win over Governor Mifflin on Wednesday. The Raiders (6-5, 5-2 Division 2) scored their runs on just one hit, capitalizing on six Mustang errors in the seventh. Nate Sedgwick’s two-run single cut Mifflin’s lead to 7-5.

Pinch-runner Cole Devine scored the go-ahead run when he attempted to steal third and went home on a throwing error. Twin Valley’s Chase Reilly was the winning pitcher, going the last two innings in relief. He didn’t allow hit, gave up two runs and struck out three.

Nate Lord was 2 for 3 with a double and RBI for Twin Valley. Jesse Angstadt and RJ Weaver were 3 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored for the Mustangs (6-7, 3-5 Division 1), and Charlie Ainge added two hits and two RBIs with a run scored for Mifflin. Twin Valley 200 000 6 — 8 6 1Gov.

Also for Berks Catholic (7-4, 6-1 Division 3), winning pitcher Henry Pflomm went the distance, striking out five and allowing just three hits. Kutztown is 7-5, 4-3 Division 4.
