Manchester United have discussed Julian Nagelsmann internally but no formal contacts yet Germany national team manager Julian Nagelsmann is one of the names part of the internal conversations at Manchester United as they look to appoint a permanent manager in the summer, according to journalist and transfer insider Ben Jacobs . The 38-year-old is open to opportunities elsewhere despite having two years left on his current contract but Man United have held no formal talks or interviewed anyone. While the Red Devils have told Michael Carrick that he is one of the leading contenders to be named the permanent boss of the Old Trafford club, nothing is guaranteed yet.
Man United have picked up just one point in their last two games and missing out on Champions League qualifications could cost the former midfielder the job. He was told he would only be in charge until the end of the season when he was given the job but the Red Devils opted against calling him the interim manager. Carrick will be desperate to return to winning ways against Chelsea on Saturday following the defeat to Leeds United at Old Trafford on Monday night.
Other managers are likely to be linked with the job in the coming weeks but Jacobs also said on The United Stand that Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique, Gareth Southgate, Xabi Alonso and Enzo Maresca are not being considered by Man United.
