Dane Brugler has made his selections in his final mock draft of the 2026 NFL Draft season.

The 2026 NFL Draft will take place in Pittsburgh in one week's time, a city where the Vikings could select the next star they add to their roster in hopes of righting the proverbial ship. Before then, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup for the team and who they may add to the roster through the draft. Thankfully, we now have some added context for players now that the scouting combine has come and gone.

The Athletic's Dan Brugler recently released the latest 2026 NFL mock draft of the cycle, which has the team going in the defensive direction. He has them taking Tennessee cornerback Jermod McCoy after he missed the entire year due to a torn ACL in January of 2025. While he did not play, he has emerged as a top-tier cornerback in the draft based on his Pro Bowl testing.

Brugler explains the McCoy pick, writing, "McCoy is a tough player to project in a mock draft โ€” some teams are comfortable with his 2025 knee injury, while others wonโ€™t consider him in the first round. I donโ€™t know how the Vikings feel, but adding his level of talent to a Brian Flores defense would be fun to watch. " The mock draft goes beyond round one, though, and goes throughout the whole process.

The rest of the Vikings' picks include: Round 2: Lee Hunter, DT, Texas Tech Round 3: A. J. Haulcy, S, LSU Round 3: Sam Hecht, C, Kansas State Round 5: Jeff Caldwell, WR, Cincinnati Round 6: Mason Reiger, Edge, Wisconsin Round 7: J.
