The Charlotte Hornets scored one of their biggest wins in recent memory, knocking off the Miami Heat in a tense play-in battle loaded with drama. But the victory came with controversy attached. Miami spent most of the night without Bam Adebayo, who left early in the second quarter after a hard fall near the baseline left him dealing with a back injury.

It also triggered a response from LaVar Ball, who jumped into the conversation as chatter around his son continued to build.

“Has Nick Wright ever looked in the mirror? I bet you if you look in the dictionary right now and look up ‘clown,’ you’re going to see two things. One, it’s going to be somebody with some long hair on the sides and a big nose.

Yep, that’s Nick Wright—a clown in itself. He’s been a clown ever since I knew him,” LaVar Ball fired back . He also went after Erik Spoelstra and Jason Whitlock too, calling out what he saw as phony excuses and misplaced criticism.
