USC baseball hits 30 victories on year but falls to Long Beach State

Yahoo Sports

The Trojans have now won 30 games for the fourth year in a row. On Tuesday, however, they failed to pick up victory number 31

Over the weekend, the USC baseball team swept Iowa in a three-game series at Dedeaux Field . With the victories, the Trojans improved to 30-7 on the 2026 season. Following the sweep, USC has now won 30 games in each of the past four seasons under head coach Andy Stankiewicz.

Prior to Stankiewicz’s arrival, the Trojans had not hit 30 victories in a year since 2015. This year, USC hit the mark with more than a month remaining in the regular season. The Trojans have a very good shot to win 40 games, something that the program has not done since Mike Gillespie’s last NCAA Tournament team more than two decades ago.

On Tuesday night, USC went for victory No. 31 when the Trojans traveled down to Long Beach State for a road game. However, they suffered a 5-3 upset loss, with the offense struggling in the defeat.

USC will look to get back on track with a massive three-game series at Nebraska this weekend. With the Trojans and Huskers currently sitting in third and second place in the conference standings, respectively, it will be a huge series for the Big Ten race as it starts to heat up.
