Nebraska volleyball head coach Dani Busboom Kelly confirmed a major addition to the 2026 schedule . The Huskers will face the Texas Longhorns in an out-of-state match, with Las Vegas as a possibility. Nebraska and Texas has not played one another since the Longhorns swept the Huskers in straight sets in the 2023 National Championsip.
Last season, Nebraska finished the season 33-1 and No. 3 in the final AVCA poll. Texas went 26-4 and lost to the Wisconsin Badgers in the NCAA Regional Final.
Husker head coach Dani Busboom Kelly confirmed the match at this past Wednesday's, April 15 Lincoln Chamber of Commerce event. Husker Online Abby Barmore reported that that match will definitely not be played in the state of Nebraska. “I won’t give you all the details, but we’re bringing back the rivalry to Texas, so that’s going to be fun.
We hope to see everybody in the whole state of Nebraska. It is not going to be in Nebraska, I’ll tell you that. We have another potential, exciting, and unique field type experience.
