Notre Dame best ever recruit, Jalen Harlason transfers to SEC program
Former Notre Dame star Jalen Haralson’s surprise commitment to Tennessee adds fuel to the Volunteers’ transfer haul.
A former Notre Dame basketball star has found a home at Tennessee . After a promising freshman season for the Irish, star freshman Jalen Haralson told On3 that he will be playing for the Volunteers next season, further depleting a basketball roster that has lost multiple key players since the season ended. Haralson averaged 16.
2-points per game, and shot 53. 6% from the field in ACC play. He also started 23 games out of 27 giving Notre Dame one of its most productive debut seasons in basketball history.
He scored in double figures in all but three games and was just one of six freshmen in a power conference to average 16-points, 4-rebounds, and 2. 5-assists. Haralson showed why he was a 5-star prospect, and seeing the highest rated recruit even to sign with the Irish leave stings.
The men's basketball team however, had it's struggles and finished the year 4-14 in ACC play and just 13-18 overall. For Notre Dame, the context is less about Haralson's destination and more about the state of the roster. The Irish have now lost several rotation players from their roster and only recently received an incoming transfer, Winthrop center Logan Duncomb , to replace them.
