They took the air out of the ball, demonstrated absolute control and eventually broke through with a luckily deflected shot.
Bayern’s boring possession lulled Real Madrid into making mental mistakes down the stretch, namely Eduardo Camavinga’s insanely stupid second yellow card…that was an easy decision for the referee and should not be debated. Bayern overcame a decade of Real Madrid frustration with two big wins. The level of confidence in the locker room will drive Bayern toward the treble.
Bayern heads back to the Allianz Arena this weekend for a Bundesliga match against Stuttgart. If Dortmund drops points to Hoffenheim on Saturday, it’s possible that Bayern can clinch up the title on Sunday. Bayern will advance to play PSG in the Champions League semifinal later this month.
