Liverpool ramp-up extraordinary transfer that could shake the entire Premier League Liverpool are reportedly accelerating a move to complete a sensational deal. Hugo Ekitike picked up a really nasty achilles injury against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night, and everyone at the club is now clearly concenred about his future. Not only is his season over, but he’s also set to miss the World Cup and a big chunk of next season too.
Right now, it is expected he is set to miss at least nine months, which is an awfully long time in football. Out of all the new signings, Ekitike was the one who settled in the quickest. He looked comfortable straight away.
23 goal contributions in his first season is a really solid return, especially in a campaign that hasn’t exactly been smooth for Liverpool. He’s already become one of the main faces of this new-look team, and fans have taken to him. But now Liverpool must find a successful masterplan without him.
Which is a worry. Take Ekitike out, and the squad suddenly looks pretty thin. There’s Alexander Isak… and not much else.
