It's a sight no one associated with the Cleveland Guardians wanted to see. Jose Ramirez was laying on the dirt in the batter's box in St. Louis.

Ramirez fouled a ball off his front (right) leg while batting from the left side of the plate. It appeared to sort of catch his shin guard, but more on the inside of his leg, where it likely didn't provide a whole lot of protection. When the Guardians' training staff came out to check on him, they removed Ramirez's shin guard and examined the area of his leg where the foul ball had been.
