German Marco Rose is reportedly the top candidate for the coaching job at Premier League club Bournemouth. The Daily Telegraph and The Guardian reported on Wednesday that the former RB Leipzig coach was "the most likely candidate" and "leading contender" to take over from Spaniard Andoni Iraola, who has announced he will not renew his contract for next season.

The Daily Telegraph and The Guardian reported on Wednesday that the former RB Leipzig coach was "the most likely candidate" and "leading contender" to take over from Spaniard Andoni Iraola, who has announced he will not renew his contract for next season. The reports said Kieran McKenna was another candidate but he has a contract until 2028 at current club Ipswich Town. Bournemouth would reportedly have to pay a fee of £6 million ($8.

1 million) to get him from the English second-tier side. Rose, 49, would not create such a problem because his still valid contract at Leipzig, where he was dismissed in March 2025, expires on June 30. Rose won two Austrian league titles with RB Salzburg and the German Cup in 2023 with Leipzig.

He has also coached Bundesliga clubs Borussia Mönchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund. Bournemouth are 11th in the Premier League but only three points shy from sixth place guaranteeing European football.
