Wessel Nijman picked up a third PDC Pro Tour title of the year on Tuesday, after an impressive 8-2 victory against Scott Waites in the final of Players Championship 10, as the midweek double header concluded at Wigan’s Robin Park Leisure Centre.

Wessel – the winner of Players Championship Two & Players Championship Eight already in 2026 – went all the way once again as the Dutchman reached Tuesday’s finale firstly by recording victories against Martin Lukeman, Justin Hood, Adam Gawlas, Niels Zonneveld, Beau Greaves and Luke Woodhouse, to set up a clash with Waites. Nijman then took complete control of the final as the Dutch star rattled off five successive legs which saw him move 7-1 ahead and within one of victory.

Waites did pull a solitary leg back before Nijman sealed the victory in Leg 10 with a 15-darter to pick up a third Pro Tour title of the year and a seventh senior PDC title of his career. Waites’ run to the final saw the 2010 Grand Slam Champion record victories on the day against Damon Heta, Tavis Dudeney, Joe Cullen, Brendan Dolan, Kevin Doets and Karel Sedlacek, before being denied by the top seed, Nijman. Elsewhere, there were Quarter Final runs for Monday’s PC9 winner Chris Dobey and Challenge Tour table topper Joe Hunt, whilst the likes of Danny Noppert, Rob Cross and Michael Smith were amongst the high profile first round casualties.
