The Blue Jackets were outplayed by Ovechkin and the Capitals in a final match that could be his last with Columbus. Greaves stopped all but one of their shots.

The Columbus Blue Jackets put up a valiant effort but fell short against an inspired Alex Ovechkin-led Washington Capitals team on Tuesday night. Boone Jenner's goal was the lone score for the Blue Jackets as they were shut out by the Caps in what could be Ovechkinโ€™s final season with them. Greaves made 19 saves, including seven while shorthanded, but his teammates failed to find their offensive rhythm.

The loss marks the end of a challenging campaign for the Columbus Blue Jackets who finished the regular season with a record of 40-30-12, tied with Washington in points and setting franchise records in assists and points. Despite the defeat, the teamโ€™s efforts provided fans across Ohio plenty to cheer about as they celebrated another sellout game at Nationwide Arena.
