2027 4-star ATH and Texas A&M target announces commitment date
Texas A&M is a finalist to land 2027 4-star ATH Braylon Calais, who will announce his commitment on Monday, April 20.
Texas A&M's 2027 recruiting class is on track to finish as the No. 1-ranked cycle heading into the 2026 college football season after landing five-star edge Zyron Forstall, who is widely considered one of the best overall prep players in the country. He will likely make an immediate impact once he steps on campus.
So far, the Aggies have secured 11 commitments with a clear focus on defense, as the future secondary could be coach Mike Elko's best if blue-chip defensive backs Raylaun Henry, JayQuan Snell, and Kamarui Dorsey stay locked in with their commitments before Early Signing Day. However, offense will be the focus over the next month or so, as four-star wide receiver Jaden Upshaw will announce his commitment on Wednesday afternoon, while the Aggies are now in the running for another standout athlete who will likely play wide receiver at the next level, as four-star ATH Braylon Calais placed Texas A&M in final six program list, and will announce hist commitment on Monday, April 20. Similar to Upshaw, Calais is 6'2" and highly versatile, possessing the size and speed to match up well with most secondaries, while also seeing time in the backfield at running back, becoming one of the more exciting prospects that could be a future star in the right system.
Also a track star, Calais is a pure athlete who could end up playing at wide receiver, running back, or even cornerback or safety, given his background, and is highly similar to Texas A&M senior safety Dalton Brooks, who also played multiple positions in high school before settling in at safety.
