The offseason acquisition hasn't helped his cause perfectly on the mound, but he could at least get a bit of support. Instead, the Yankees' bats go quiet when Weathers pitches. Weathers has now made four starts this season.
And specifically while he remains on the mound, the Yankees have yet to score a single run in their half-innings at the plate. Tuesday night, for example, Weathers went five innings, and the Yankees' only run of the game came in the eighth inning. He's the only pitcher in baseball this season with this predicament so far, according to Baseball Reference's Katie Sharp: Ryan Weathers is the only pitcher this season with at least 4 games started and 0 runs of support.
