Is Mendoza on the hot seat?

Mets’ Carlos Mendoza will quickly learn that adversity will get him fired originally appeared on The Sporting News . Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here . Adversity isn't something new for the New York Mets or skipper Carlos Mendoza.

However, at some point, something has to change. It's inexcusable that the Mets have gone through what they have over the past two seasons now, and frankly, nobody wants to continue to hear Mendoza come out and make the comments that he does. After another loss against the Los Angeles Dodgers , the Mets find themselves in a situation that nobody was hoping for them to be in early in the season.

Not only is New York dealing with injuries, but it also hasn't been able to do enough on either side of the baseball to win games at a high level. The Mets simply haven't done enough, and Mendoza is blaming adversity for it. "At some point, during the regular season of 162, you're going to face adversity, and here we are -- pretty early, facing adversity," Mendoza said, per ESPN .

"We just got to find a way to get through it. " Again, I'm not going to sit here and say that everything that has happened over the past few seasons with Mendoza as the skipper is all his fault. The harsh reality here is that the Mets just haven't been good enough, and there are a lot of factors for that.
