The New York Mets have a few problems on both sides of the baseball, and it's evident that something has to change for this organization to be what it expects to be.

Some of that can be blamed on the health problems the Mets have dealt with, including the biggest injury. Juan Soto is undoubtedly one of the best five players in this game, and whenever he isn't on the field, we should expect the Mets to be a bit worse of a team than they typically are. However, that doesn't mean we need to see an epic collapse like the one they’re currently in, hardly a month into the season.

Unfortunately, though, some of this looks like it will continue for the foreseeable future. The latest suggests that Soto isn't healthy right now, and a return from his calf injury doesn't look to be coming in the immediate future. “Soto’s return from a calf strain doesn’t appear imminent.

He did not travel with the team and is doing his rehab work at Citi Field. At the time of the injury on April 3, the Mets suggested a timetable of two to three weeks. Soto, however, hasn’t yet started a running program… “During the same pregame news conference Monday, Mendoza also said the Mets remain in the early stages of Soto’s situation and he could even undergo another MRI if the club deems it necessary,” Will Sammon wrote .
