Jerusalem Marathon's full race canceled due to weather conditions

The full marathon race of the 15th International Jerusalem Winner Marathon was canceled due to weather conditions, the Jerusalem Municipality announced on Tuesday. The race, which spans 42. 2 km, was scheduled to take place on Friday, with remaining races moved to earlier times.
The decision was made "out of full responsibility for the safety and health of the runners, participants, and staff, and following a thorough review of all data and forecasts," said the municipality following a professional situation assessment. The municipality, together with all security, medical, and production authorities, continues preparations to hold the event in a safe and optimal manner, and will update the public on any further changes as required, it added. "Long-distance running may endanger participantsโ health, even among experienced runners," said the Jerusalem Marathon's accompanying physician Prof.
