Saints lose series opener to Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs
With Alex Jackson leading the way with a three-hit performance, including his second homer of the season, the St. Paul Saints posted nine hits and seven runs in returning home Tuesday night against the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs. It wouldn’t be enough.
Lehigh Valley pounded out 15 hits in an 11-7 victory. Andrew Bash started for St. Paul and gave up four runs on five hits and three walks in three innings.
The Saints’ offense took him off the hook, but reliever Trent Baker (2-1) allowed three runs on four hits and a walk in an inning of work. Jackson had a double and RBI single to go with his homer. Alan Roden also homered for St.
Paul, which resumes the six-game series at 6:37 CDT on Wednesday. Related Articles Wallstedt makes his case as Wild win regular-season finale The Timberwolves blitz opponents to open first rounds. They credit preparation.
