LaFramboise, Visker help Harrisburg softball rout Brandon Valley

Peyton LaFramboise hit three home runs, Kylie Visker dealt a shutout and Harrisburg's softball team beat previously-undefeated Brandon Valley.

HARRISBURG — The Harrisburg softball team has shaken off a season-opening loss with three straight statement wins, but arguably none was bigger or more dominant than the Tigers' 11-0 rout of Brandon Valley on Tuesday, April 14. Brandon Valley entered the game 4-0, outscoring opponents 41-23 and earning some important wins of its own against Sioux Falls Lincoln and Brookings. That all changed thanks to Peyton LaFramboise, Kylie Visker and the rest of the Tigers.

LaFramboise stole the show at the dish, slamming a home run in each of her three at-bats. Those three hits led to seven RBIs and helped Harrisburg get off to a 9-0 lead through two innings. "I got good information from my teammates that I was able to learn from and take into my at-bats and put myself in the best position I could," LaFramboise said.

Harrisburg head coach Keith Flemmer is used to dominance from LaFramboise, but even he was impressed with her latest showing. "I always tell her, 'I'm really glad you're on our team,' because it's really scary when she's up to bat in our scrimmages," Flemmer said. "Every single time she's up to bat, it's dangerous.

" LaFramboise's performance somewhat overshadowed Visker's first shutout of the season. Flemmer mentioned the junior pitcher has put in a lot of effort to improve and be ready to take on a bigger role this season. Visker felt her drop curve and changeup have taken the biggest strides lately, and those helped her dominate with three hits and a walk allowed, two strikeouts and six outs on the ground.
