Iowa football snags commitment from 2027 in-state EDGE

Yahoo Sports

Iowa football kept it going in recruiting on Tuesday with the commitment of an in-state 2027 EDGE.

On a day when the Iowa football program received some disheartening news , it wasn't all negative for Kirk Ferentz and company. The Hawkeyes found out early on Tuesday that the NCAA was forcing them to forfeit wins from the 2023 season following a recruiting violation in their pursuit of Cade McNamara. It was a frustrating result for the program, which saw its reputation tarnished a bit in the process.

Luckily, there was something for the fan base and program to be excited about later in the day. On Tuesday night, 2027 edge rusher Jerrence Knoblock took to X to officially announce his commitment to the Hawkeyes. 🖤💛COMMITTED!!!

The 6-foot-6, 220-pound EDGE chose Iowa over offers from North Dakota State, South Dakota, and South Dakota State. The versatile defensive lineman helped lead West Lyon to an undefeated season and Class 2A state championship in 2025. He's the eighth commit in the Hawkeyes' 2027 class, and the second edge rusher, joining three-star Tommy Riordan.
