Liverpool duo still have a lot to learn after awful PSG performance Liverpool were beaten by Paris Saint-Germain in their Champions League tie. Going into the match, most of the Reds' fans knew that it would be a big ask for the Reds to even get on level terms with Luis Enrique's men. The vast majority of Liverpool's performances have left a lot to be desired with Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo being particularly disappointing .
There was a 20-minute spell during the start of the second half when it felt like Slot's men could maybe get a goal or two back. However, after PSG managed to bag their first shot of the second half, all the fight was taken out of the Anfield outfit. Tuesday's defeat was far from ideal but for two Liverpool players, it exposed how much they still have to learn.
Alexander Isak and Jeremie Frimpong must prove their worth next season Liverpool's 2025-26 summer transfer window was one filled with hope. The Reds' fanbase couldn't believe their luck when over £450 million was spent on new players to add to their ranks. Alexander Isak was their marquee signing with many thinking that him and Salah would become a rather dynamic duo.
That obviously hasn't been the case and, in the 45 minutes that Isak played on Tuesday, he only had five touches of the ball. He looked like a fish out of water and, even though he was on the pitch for the full first-half, the Reds may as well have played with 10 men, that's how minimal his impact was. Admittedly, Jeremie Frimpong wasn't as poor as the Sweden international but it's clear that he isn't cut out to replace the creativity of Trent Alexander-Arnold .
