Duke among nation's leaders in TV viewers this season

Duke had the second-most viewers in college basketball during the 2025-26 season.

When Duke takes the basketball court, there will always be millions of eyes around the nation tuning in to either cheer for or root against the Blue Devils, as it has become one of the top programs of all-time. That was no different this past year as Jon Scheyer’s squad went 35-3, spent a part of the season at No. 1 and were the No.

1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament after sweeping the ACC regular season and tournament titles. In fact, no team outside of national champion Michigan was watched more than the Blue Devils. According to Nielsen, Duke’s games were watched by 2,965,000 viewers this season, trailing the Wolverines 3,353,000 viewers for the year.

And three of the top five teams that were watched this season made the Final Four, with Illinois and UConn joining Michigan. The most watched teams in college basketball for the entirety of 2025-26 season, according to Nielsen. pic.
