Four-star edge and Kentucky target will decide on Saturday
The Kentucky Wildcats are in the final three for four-star edge Keysan Taylor, and he will announce his decision on Saturday.
Per Allen Trieu of Rivals , 2027 four-star edge defender Keysan Taylor is set to commit this Saturday on April 18. This is notably the same day as the Kentucky Wildcats football spring game. Taylor is a top 35 edge defender in the country, as well as a top 15 player in the state of Illinois on Rivals.
The 6'3, 215-pound edge defender is deciding between three SEC schools. Taylor will be choosing between Ole Miss, Vanderbilt and Kentucky, though Ole Miss is the current favorite. The Wildcats just landed a big commitment from Arlington Heights, Illinois recently in four-star quarterback Jake Nawrot .
The Chicago area is one that the previous regime did not prioritize in recruiting. However, it seems that the Illinois recruiting pipeline will be a point of emphasis for Will Stein and his staff going forward. This is an area that isn't traditionally recruited by SEC schools, so making it a focal point could prove to be beneficial for Kentucky.
Taylor would be the ninth commitment in the 2027 class for the Wildcats coaching staff if he picks Kentucky on Saturday. Kentucky is already off to a hot start on the recruiting trail, as they currently sit inside the top 30 on Rivals team rankings. This would keep the momentum going for Coach Stein as they have been in the mix for several highly-touted prospects over the past couple of months.
