Boston gave the ball to ace left-hander Garrett Crochet, but he had a stunning outing, as he was pulled in the second inning. Crochet finished the game going just 1. 2 innings, allowing 11 runs, 10 earned on nine hits while walking three.
He set his career-high in earned runs allowed, and tied his career-high in hits allowed in the 11-6 loss to the Twins. Following the outing, Red Sox catcher Carlos Narváez said he and Crochet need to figure out a solution quicker so he can stay in the game and limit the damage. But the catcher is confident Crochet will be better in his next start.
"Everything went so quick,” Narváez said postgame, via MLB. com. “Next time, if this happens, we have to figure it out quicker and do something better.
