2026 NFL Draft RB1 a lock to go top ten, but how high could he climb?

Yahoo Sports

Former Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love will definitely be a top-ten draft choice for one team, but how far could he rise within the top-ten? Which team could snag him first? Coming out of college, Love has already established himself as a heavy workload back, who could carry the load like some running backs in the earlier days of the NFL.

He has also shown he can be an excellent pass-catcher and a security blanket for his quarterback. Love has the speed, explosiveness, and agility to score from anywhere on the field. Which team could be the one to draft RB1 in the 2026 NFL Draft?

The New Orleans Saints need a running back and have the eighth overall pick in this year's draft. The Kansas City Chiefs have the ninth overall pick, and the Cincinnati Bengals will have the tenth. Unless a trade is made and a team eyes Love as a must-have within the top five, it appears likely that Love will go to the Washington Commanders, who hold the seventh spot in the draft.

As common as it may sound, the NFL doesn't have a huge laundry list of running backs since 2015 that were taken high (top-ten) in past drafts. The most notable names to do so are Ashton Jeanty, Bijan Robinson, Saquon Barkley, Leonard Fournette, Christian McCaffrey, Ezekiel Elliott, and Todd Gurley. As rare as it is, Jeremiyah Love looks to be a lock at the running back position to be chosen within the top ten.
