The 18-year-old had been going through a rough patch on court, which boiled over during an outburst following her early exit at Indian Wells last month. Andreeva was hoping to turn things around as she started the clay season, and she did just that by beating Anastasia Potapova in the final to clinch her first title of the year.

The biggest titles of Andreeva’s career came last year, when she won two WTA 1000 titles back-to-back in Dubai and Indian Wells. Andreeva posted on Instagram after her win, sharing a brief message along with photos from the event: “Thank you Linz (Australian flag and love heart emojis).
” Her post quickly drew attention, with messages coming in from several notable names, including Azarenka, Mboko, and Caroline Garcia. Azarenka hasn’t played since the US Open last year but made time to send a supportive note to Andreeva. In Russian, she wrote: “Good girl!!!
” Mboko also chimed in. Despite being on the losing end of their Adelaide International final earlier this season, she sent a friendly message: “Superstar (love heart eye emojis). ” Garcia responded as well.
