Exeter City midfielder George Birch has agreed a new one-year deal with a club option of an additional year.
Exeter City midfielder George Birch has signed a new one-year deal with the club, with City having the option of an additional year. The 19-year-old scored his first senior goal in the Grecians' 10-1 hammering by Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, in their FA Cup third-round tie in January, firing home superbly from outside the box past Man City goalkeeper James Trafford after coming on as a substitute. Birch has since been sent out on loan to National League South strugglers Chippenham Town until the end of the season in order to gain more game time, but has now committed his longer-term future at St James Park.
"I'm really happy, it's a really proud moment to sign another deal at a place where I want to be," Birch told Exeter's club website. Exeter FA Cup goalscorer Birch has 'big future'
