With Coventry City now almost guaranteed a return to the Premier League, we’re expecting many rumours connecting them with Chelsea players given their manager is Blues legend Frank Lampard.

The first senior one popped up today – TeamTalk claim that the Sky Blues are going to make an attempt to sign 18 year old Jesse Derry on loan, fresh from our academy. The teenager only came to Cobham a year ago from Crystal Palace, but has shown his ability in the youth teams and has also now made his senior debut, featuring as a sub when we played Wrexham in the FA Cup. Loan deal lined up for teenage talent “TEAMtalk understands that Derry is high on Coventry’s shortlist as they assess options ahead of the summer window, with Lampard believed to be a strong admirer of the teenager, who he would like to take on a season’s loan.

” We would be all in favour of that – it looks like Derry would be good enough to pick up minutes and develop, and who better to learn from than Lampard? In other news… Liam Rosenior’s attempt to stop Nico O’Reilly on Sunday worked for a while, but ultimately weren’t enough. Chelsea’s accounts are out, and they show vast increases on pay for directors and executives at the club last year.
