Browns fans: Why should the Browns trade down from the 6th pick? Why not?
With the 2026 NFL draft approaching, the Cleveland Browns must decide how to approach the sixth pick.
The Cleveland Browns find themselves in a similar position to the 2025 NFL Draft with an early pick in the first round. Many believe the team might take a similar approach with this yearโs first-round pick , potentially trading down to a later spot in the first round. General manager Andrew Berry has been comfortable with trading down in the past.
Notably, he traded down from the second pick in the draft last year, where many had speculated that he would take Travis Hunter . So far, last seasonโs decision to trade down has paid off for the team, though it can take several years to fully understand how successful certain players become and how everything ultimately unfolds. Trading down always carries risk.
You could pass on elite talent, but if the front office isnโt fully confident in the options available at pick six, moving back in the draft could be a logical choice. Another case for the Browns to trade down is the number of gaps on their current roster, particularly on the offensive side of the ball. If they can trade down from six and acquire multiple other premium picks in the draft, they will have the resources to fill more of the roster holes.
Ultimately, the team must determine whether a true difference-maker is available at pick six or if acquiring multiple highly graded players is the better path forward. Let me know what you think in the comments โ Should the Browns trade down from the 6th pick? Join the conversation!
