After five weeks of practice, the Buckeyes will play at Ohio Stadium at noon in front of fans in a scrimmage on April 18. Ohio State coach Ryan Day said the scrimmage will feature the offense against the defense rather than divide the roster into separate teams, a similar format to last year's game.
In 2025, the Buckeyes' spring game featured the offense as the Scarlet team and the defense as the Gray team. Using a special scoring format, Scarlet handled Gray in a 50-31 victory . The offense has won the spring game three of the past four years.

A vast majority of seating for the game is general admission, except sections on the border of the field (sections 3-39AA) and club section tickets in the lower bowl.
