GAME OF THE DAY You normally can’t win a baseball game all by yourself. With Will Haggerty, normal doesn’t apply. The Moses Brown All-Stater opened Monday’s game against Smithfield with a home run, then proceeded to shove for six innings as the Quakers took down the Sentinels, 1-0.

Moses Brown knew runs would be tough to come by against Smithfield ace Jackson Chamberlin , but there’s no need to be afraid of a pitchers’ duel when you’ve got the biggest gun. Haggerty made his impact felt before he could throw a pitch, taking Chamberlin’s first offering of the game over the fence in left field for a 1-0 lead. Chamberlin settled in after the nuke, striking out the next three batters, but ended up on the wrong end of a hard-luck loss because of who he was up against.

For six innings, Haggerty was practically untouchable. He threw four no-hit innings before freshman Gavin Gibree led off the fifth with a single. After another Hagerty strikeout, Smithfield freshman Connor Curtis came up with a single to second.
