Former Wisconsin Badger Serah Wiliams selected in WNBA draft
The 6-4 forward was a two-time first-team all-Big Ten selection before she transferred to UConn for her final season.
MADISON – Former Wisconsin Badgers women's basketball player Serah Williams was selected in the WNBA draft Monday, April. 13 at The Shed at Hudson Yards in Manhattan. The 6-foot-4 forward, who spent her senior season at UConn , was taken by the Connecticut Sun in the third round with the 33 rd pick.
Williams was later traded to the Portland Fire , one of the league's expansion franchises. This season Williams averaged 6. 7 points and 4.
4 rebounds per game and made 58. 8% of her shots to help the Huskies reach the Final Four. She posted a season-high 14 points on 7-for-8 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds against Georgetown in the opening round of the Big East tournament.
