2026 NFL Draft: Updated Jets mock draft

Yahoo Sports

In our new Jets mock draft update, we go heavy on the offensive side of the football after lots of defensive additions in free agency.

Last season, the New York Jets had one of the worst defenses in the NFL. This is why, when free agency started, the team focused heavily on rebuilding that side of the football with productive veterans. This means in our new two-round mock draft update, we focused heavily on getting the offense on track.

This time around we even land New York a quarterback. First round - WR Carnell Tate - Ohio State Critics will say this is too soon for Tate and that there are many better options on defense. However, in terms of who can impact this team the most in 2026.

No matter who is playing quarterback in 2026, Tate will make them better and is going to be highly productive from Day One. First round - TE Kenyon Sadiq - Oregon We come right back to offense with the Jets second pick of the round with tight end Kenyon Sadiq. Sadiq is a freakish athlete who can line up all over the formation and create mismatches.

He would pair well with Mason Taylor to give the Jets two threats in the passing game. Second round - QB Ty Simpson - Alabama We considered passing on Simpson here but as the No. 2 quarterback in this draft, he's all reward and no risk in the second round.
