If the Pittsburgh Steelers decide not to draft a quarterback in the first round of this year's NFL draft, it wouldn't be a bad idea for them to consider taking someone who can support whoever will be playing quarterback this season.

The Steelers could be poised to add another wide receiver, but they should consider bringing in someone who can protect the quarterback. Fox Sports' Rob Rang has a particular player in mind. Rang published a mock draft on Monday, predicting that the Steelers will select Oregon's guard Emmanuel Pregnon with the 21st overall pick.

"For many, it may feel like a foregone conclusion that Aaron Rodgers will be starting for the Steelers this year, but regardless of who is taking the snaps, the replacement for Isaac Seumalo at left guard is going to have a lot to do with their success, or lack thereof. Pregnon — a four-year starter — would be a plug-and-play fit whose presence might entice Rodgers to return," Rang wrote. Pro Football Focus ranked Pregnon as the second-best guard out of 686 players last season, placing him third in run blocking and 11th in pass blocking.

The Steelers couldn't go wrong by adding Pregnon to their roster. If he is indeed the pick, he has the potential to secure one of the guard positions in Pittsburgh for the next decade. More NFL: Intriguing Dual-Threat Quarterback Visiting Steelers Ahead Of NFL Draft
