Michigan State's Grace VanSlooten selected by Storm in WNBA draft

Michigan State women's basketball star Grace VaSlooten is heading back out west VanSlooten was selected by the Seattle Storm with the No. 39 overall pick in the draft. VanSlooten became the first Spartan selected in the WNBA draft since Nia Clouden went No.
12 overall in 2022. She is the ninth player in program history to be drafted. The selection by Seattle sends VanSlooten out west to where she began her college career.
VanSlooten played two seasons at Oregon before transferring to Michigan State in 2024. She was a two-time second team All-Big Ten selection with the Spartans and helped the program to a combined 45 victories the last seasons. Grace and green just go together.
