Social media reacts to Flau'Jae Johnson's WNBA draft selection
LSU women's basketball star is heading to the WNBA. How did the basketball world react to her draft selection?
Flau'jae Johnson is officially a professional basketball player. During Monday's WNBA Draft, the Golden State Valkyries selected the former LSU women's basketball star at No. 8 overall.
A four-year starter under head coach Kim Mulkey, Johnson left the program as a national champion and one of its most prolific scorers. Her 2,063 points rank No. 5 on the all-time leading scorers list.
Johnson averaged 14. 6 points and 5. 3 rebounds per game on 47% shooting from the field over her collegiate career.
She scores at will, getting downhill, particularly in transition, but upped her game as a three-point shooter and on defense this season. Mulkey praises Johnson as a catalyst for getting LSU back into the national spotlight as one of the best programs in the country. Johnson was the first McDonald's All-American signed by Mulkey during her tenure in Baton Rouge.
