The five-star 2026 recruit is ranked as a consensus top-ten blue-chip and committed to UNC under Hubert Davis. He's the brother of Kayden Mingo, who's currently in the transfer portal after leaving Penn State. Mingo initially picked North Carolina over Baylor, Penn State and Washington back in Feburary.
This seems to be part of the restructuring under new coach Michael Malone and wanting to find the right roster. The 6-foot-5 point guard from Long Island Lutheran High School (New York) missed most of the high school season because of an ankle injury. But Mingo was also named MVP of the NBA top 100 camp last summer after averaging 23.
