Oklahoma up to No. 14 in Coaches Poll
The Oklahoma baseball team snapped a cold streak with a series win over Vanderbilt on the weekend and saw rewards Monday.
Fresh off a series win on the road at Vanderbilt, the Oklahoma baseball team found itself climbing in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll on Monday. OU jumped four spots to No. 14 after taking two of three from the Commodores.
The 14th spot places the Sooners as the sixth-highest-ranked team in the poll out of the Southeastern Conference . In the standings, Oklahoma is tied for ninth alongside Vandy, Kentucky, Mississippi State and Tennessee. None of those teams were ranked higher than the Sooners on Monday.
Texas held its spot as the highest-ranked SEC team, checking at No. 4 in the most recent poll. The Longhorns dropped two spots, however, after losing both games against Texas A&M on the weekend.
The finale between the teams was cancelled because of weather. The Aggies, on the other hand, jumped eight spots, going from No. 15 to No.
