Casual fans who tuned in to watch Miami Dolphins football last season are in for a special surprise when the 2026 NFL season kicks off this fall. The team’s most notable players have either been cut or traded, including Tua Tagovailoa , Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Bradley Chubb, and Minkah Fitzpatrick. Heck, even head coach Mike McDaniel has been let go.
While the Dolphins’ departures already look like a Pro Bowl roster, more changes could be coming to South Beach. While first-year Dolphins general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan previously stated that the team has three “pillars. ” He stated that those players are Pro Bowl running back De’Von Achane, center Aaron Brewer, and All-Pro linebacker Jordyn Brooks.
However, all three of those cornerstones or “pillars” are entering the final year of their contract. With how the Dolphins have torn down the roster to the studs, some of those players may not have much interest in re-signing with Miami. Of course, a boatload of money could sway their opinion, but other teams are smelling the blood in the water, and trade activity could ramp up during the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft.
While Sullivan previously committed to the three names above sticking with the Dolphins for years to come, when he was again questioned recently, he changed his tune. Now Sullivan is saying, “ nobody is untouchable in this business . ” Dolphins fans learned that the hard way when their biggest stars were let go earlier this offseason.
