European internationals Lefteris Liotopoulos and Imran Suljanovic entered the transfer portal on Saturday. The news was first reported by Zach Braziller of the New York Post. One of four players to compete on both of St.
John’s’ Big East regular season and tournament champion teams, Liotopoulos was an end-of-the-rotation guard for the Red Storm who rarely had his number called, but was ready and willing to shoot whenever the Johnnies struggled from three and needed a long-range spark. The 6-foot-5 guard averaged 2. 9 points on 33.
9% shooting and 29. 1% from three in 55 games played over two seasons in New York. Known by his coaches and teammates as “Lefty”, the Thessaloniki, Greece native had his finest game in a Red Storm jersey in their 90-73 win over Creighton on January 10, their first victory over the Bluejays in Omaha in seven years.
