UCLA Acquires TCU Veteran Guard Through Transfer Portal
UCLA women’s basketball picked up a third player through the transfer portal on Monday. Former TCU guard Donovyn Hunter has reportedly committed to UCLA with one year of eligibility remaining, according to On3’s Talia Goodman. Hunter has played the last two seasons of her career with TCU.
This season, she helped lead the Horned Frogs to an Elite Eight appearance against South Carolina. Hunter averaged 10. 2 points, 3.
2 rebounds and 2. 1 assists while starting in 38 games for TCU this season. She shot a career-high 45.
7 percent from the field and a career-high 33. 7 percent from beyond the arc. Hunter Played in the Pac-12 UCLA’s national championship team represented multiple former Pac-12 teams: UCLA, Stanford, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington State and Utah.
Center Lauren Betts transferred from Stanford, guard Charlisse Leger-Walker came from Washington State, forward Angela Dugalić transferred from Oregon and guard Gianna Kneepkens came from Utah. Senior forward Timea Gardiner redshirted this season but previously played for Oregon State before transferring to UCLA last season. “We call ourselves the Pac-12 Avengers,” Leger-Walker said after winning the Big Ten Tournament title in March, per the Los Angeles Times .
