New No. 1 in Softball America's top 25
Who took the top spot in this week's Softball America top 25?
After a big weekend in Austin, the Oklahoma Sooners have climbed to the No. 1 spot in the Softball America top 25. The Sooners earned a series win over the Texas Longhorns to move to 40-4 on the season and 13-2 in SEC play.
It was the Sooners' biggest challenge to this point in the season, and they passed with flying colors, earning a shutout win on Friday night and a come-from-behind win on Saturday before their comeback fell short Sunday in the finale. The Sooners jumped the Alabama Crimson Tide, who took a series from the Longhorns the weekend before and took two of three from the Auburn Tigers this weekend. The Longhorns fell four spots to No.
4 in the nation after back-to-back series losses. After Oklahoma and Alabama, Nebraska comes in at No. 3, Texas Tech dropped two spots to No.
4, and the Arkansas Razorbacks moved up two spots to No. 5. That sets up another top-five showdown in SEC softball this weekend when the Razorbacks come to Norman to take on the No.
