The Hurricanes need just one point to wrap up first place in the Eastern Conference.
The Flyers can clinch third place in the Metropolitan Division with a win, which of course would put them in a playoff spot. Regardless, Carolina will still emphasize the importance of resting some starters as they will have another make-shift roster tonight. According to our friend Walt Ruff, Aho, Jarvis, Svechnikov, Slavin, and Gostisbehere were not on the ice for the morning skate.
(Looks like Jordan Staal was also missing. ) The lines were posted as follows: Hall – Stankoven – Blake Ehlers – Kotkaniemi – Nadeau Carrier – Jankowski – Deslauriers Robinson – Brind’Amour – Martinook Miller – Chatfield Nikishin – Walker Reilly – Legault That is correct, Jalen Chatfield has retuned to the ice, at least for the morning skate. Brandon Bussi was in the starter’s crease and looks to improve upon his current five game winning streak.
Buckle up, here's what you need to know from #Canes morning skate in Philly: • Jalen Chatfield is skating. Good to see him back in the mix after missing a few games due to a lower-body injury. • It looks like a few big dogs may be out tonight.
