A Georgia Bulldog legacy player is transferring to a West Coast team in the ACC. Jake Wilkins , son of college andpro basketball Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins, is transferring to the California Golden Bears , according to Jonathan Givony of Draft Express. Wilkins is a 6-foot-9, 185-pound rising sophomore who has elite athleticism, similar to his father.
He was ranked as the No. 68 prospect in the nation and No. 6 from the state of Georgia.
He committed to Georgia on Oct. 31, 2023 , and when he enrolled, his dad unretired his number so that his son could carry his legacy. Wilkins appeared in 32 games for Georgia and helped the Bulldogs make the NCAA Tournament.
He averaged 10. 2 minutes per game. While he showed flashes of his father's talent, his freshman year was not spectacular.
