Ravens' Director of Strength & Conditioning Scott Elliott expects Mike Green to make a 'big jump' in his second year.

Scott Elliott Sees Big Opportunity for Mike Green in Year Two Ravens Director of Strength & Conditioning Scott Elliott pointed to outside linebacker Mike Green's behind-the-scenes work as he heads into his second season after finishing last year strong. Elliott said Green is now going through his first full NFL offseason, a shift from the predraft process, where rookies spend months preparing for the Combine rather than football. "The opportunity for Mike Green is – it's hard to put into words because we all saw him take the steps, and what you don't see is how hard he works at his craft, in terms of obviously on field, [but also] his skillset in the weight room and taking care of his body.

And I think the big goal for Mike is, as he continues to grow – it's like [for] any rookie, [when] they were going into their rookie year, [at] this time of year, they were preparing for a battery of tests at the Combine, not for playing football. So, it's tough for them. It's tough for any of them where they go through a whole offseason preparing for the Combine or their Pro Day only to come in, and it's just full go.

So now, having the full offseason of everything I just mentioned in terms of phase one and phase two, and now with new playbook and all the rest, I'm excited to see the jump that he makes in Year Two. " Elliott said having a full offseason focused on football should help set Green up for that next step. Green got off to a slow start, but eventually found his footing down the stretch.

Overall, Green played 713 snaps, finishing with a 46. 3 grade from PFF, 3. 5 sacks, 19 pressures, and 14 quarterback hits.
