The Dawgs ran about 80 plays in full pads in something that resembled a real scrimmage.

Christian Caple wrote up the practice , including some promising note on an especially sharp day for Demond Williams. Caple also had lots of good things to say about freshman wide receiver Jordan Clay, who has the size, speed, and technique to add a lot to the receiving corps in his first year on campus. The Seattle Times also gave some updates on UW pass catchers.

Their profile focuses on Decker DeGraaf in his quest to become a more complete tight end. DeGraaf has put on substantial weight since coming to Montlake. He was mostly a big play receiving threat during his breakout freshman year.

He already showed more balance to his game last season. If he can continue to develop as both a blocker and a receiver, he has clear professional upside. DeGraaf isn’t the only tight end tryin to diversify his game.
